"I’m just writing a quick note to express my appreciation for the trip... I had a wonderful time and I will have fond memories for years to come... I didn’t want too much time to go by before I thanked you all. There are high marks on all aspects of the trip. Nothing negative to report. You can pick your friends but you can’t pick the people who join together on these trips. As such, I feel fortunate to have been part of a lively, diverse, bicycling-passionate group of people. The rides were unforgettable. The food and accommodations were excellent. The SAG was trustworthy and efficient. All of you were focused and ready to assist.
The highlight for me was the long descent from Izoard into Briancon. As I was floating along the last stretches of the winding pavement my eyes welled up and I was, to my great surprise, choked with emotion. It was a release of all the anticipation, the effort, the recognition of the beauty and the appreciation of family support. Most of all, it was a sense of feeling so fortunate and so thankful. Honestly, I’ve only had maybe a dozen days like that in my life. Days that are so great, for whatever reason, they make you cry tears of joy. I think that speaks for itself... It was truly a pleasure."

"Well, it's been a little over 3 weeks since we left Villard and we are still talking about the trip. We had a wonderful time. Thank you so much for all your work in making everything work flawlessly... This year I got lucky enough to get a picture with the "Devil" on the Alpe. So there is another frame of the Devil and the Angel (got a picture with her in '06 at the Croix de Fer). Just some of the great memories spent with you and David, Michael and Leonie.
Shortly after I got back home I drove down thru East Lansing and past Mich, State Univ. After [the cycling trip] life seemed kinda boring. The excitement and reflection of our trip will last an awfully long time.
